What Customers Say About Apple iPod 20 GB White M9282LL/A (4th Generation) OLD MODEL:

I like many others bought an IPOD that soon failed after the original warranty expired. If you decide to buy an Ipod just be aware that it will soon be in a landfill in bangladesh (we send our e-waste their because it's too toxic for our landfills) and you will have to buy the latest and greatest ipod which is 1 mm thinner. They don't make them to last because if they did their profits would go down.

The price to fix it is the same as buying a new one so guess what. It seems they don't last more than a few years if you're lucky. Hard drive died.

For some reason I I thought apple products lasted longer but I was shocked with the number of people at the 'Genius Bar' with broken Ipods. Apple recommends you buy a new one. Of course.

Throw it away and consume some more. Yippee.

They all stopped functioning out of nowhere; I never dropped or hit any of them to cause this. Over the past 7-8mo I have bought 5 different ones. I loved each of my iPods dearly.Dearly. Evidently the previous owner(s) did not take care of the ipod themselves. Each one did the dreaded "sad ipod" face either immediately or within a few days. My most recent one lasted a few months, miraculously. I would not recommend buying this used, and if you do, please buy a Squaretrade.com warranty. That saved me my money the 2 times I was unable to return my ipod to the seller.

I purchased this item for my daughter for Christmas. She has had absolutely no complaints. That means that this little music maker is a hit with her. If she is satisfied.so am I.

I want to say that my iPod came to me perfectly and perhaps it did, except the instruction manual I received was in French (and I can't read French yet), so I haven't made time to find out how I can find out how to use the darn thing. But since I have been unable to really use it since I don't know how as yet, I don't know for sure. I figured out some of it on my own but I'm still a little lost. At first I thought the battery wasn't holding a long charge, but now I think it may be ok. I would rate it high if those two concerns were out of my mind. Everything else about it looks and feels like it's probably a good product and company .

I am ready for flash memory in these things the spinning hard drive models are crap -- fundamentally a bad idea, but BEST OPTION for porting large files of data between work and home. Great when it works. Repairing it will cost as much as buying a new one. It was always the hard drive. Never again with them. If you have a service plan turn it in near the end of your plan for sure.

They just put a sticker on it and said it was fine. The hard drives are not great though and once it starts to freeze sell it quick or plan in getting another. I returned ours that kept freezing to bestbuy before warranty was up and they kept it until two days before the warranty was over (three weeks) and didn't do anything. I have owned three models and cared for them well. Only one lasted more than a year before choking and dying. The thing started in the store but died two days later [.].

Also wait until you can get an ipod with a solid state drive--forget the spinning drive thing.
